Book returned to library more than a century late
HELSINKI - A Finnish library-goer apparently thought 'better late than never' and returned a book on loan for more than 100 years to a library in Vantaa, Finland.
The library had long since lost track of the loan but welcomed back to its collections the bound copy of a 1902 volume of Vartija, an active religious monthly periodical at the time.
"We do not know when exactly it was borrowed and who is the one that returned it. There weren't any documents with it," the library comments
.
"There is an old note attached to the book which says there is a fine of 10 pennies a week for late returns," she added. Finland has since moved on to using the euro as their sole currency.
The library sticker inside the cover, and the old-fashioned handwriting on it, showed that the book was last officially loaned out at the beginning of the last century, she said.
Oddly enough, the book was borrowed such a long time ago that the Korso branch of the Vantaa library, where it was finally handed in, did not even exist when the book was borrowed.

French National Soccer Team Coach Bans Nintendo Wii
Euro 2008's coming up and for France, this time, it's serious. They came up short in the World Cup final in '06, so the Blues want to do better this time round and bring home the Cup. Coach Raymond Domenech is outlawing anything that could cause unnecessary injuries to his players. And that means the Wii.
Seems that Domenech thinks that the risk of injury while playing a round of Wii Boxing or Tennis is far greater than hard football training sessions (2-3 times a day) demanded of professional soccer players, so the Wii has got to go.

Fake Nicholas Cage sneaks in to Real Madrid game
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, a fake Nicholas Cage cheated his way into Real Madrids game on Wednesday. In reality the person was an italian TV host Paolo Calabresi. The Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon even presented "Cage" with a Real Madrid jersey with the name "Nicolas Cage"-printed on it. Apparently Calabresi used the name of a US agency that earlier organized Sylvester Stallones visit to the Bernabeu.
First, they got the print wrong in the shirt and second: THE GUY DOES NOT LOOK A BIT LIKE NICHOLAS CAGE!!
